Root Canal Treatments

Whether through injury or decay, some teeth can become so damaged that the issue seems too severe for treatment, resulting in tooth loss. However, there are times when severely damaged teeth can be salvaged through root canal treatments. Not only can root canals help to restore the aesthetic appeal of the tooth, but they can also help to relieve pain that is often caused by decaying or diseased teeth. Root canal treatment has had many advances in technology and is nothing more than a “deep” filling that goes down the roots of the tooth. Root canals have a bad reputation, but we do everything we can to make it as simple and pain-free as a simple filling.

Emergency Root Canal Services and Procedures

Our emergency root canal services involve a multi-step process that may include more than one visit. In some cases, an antibiotic is prescribed to help resolve infection. Just like with a regular filling, the first thing we will do is numb the infected area to prevent you from feeling any pain during the procedure. The goal of root canal therapy is to remove the pulp, the place where the nerves and blood vessels reside so that the tooth no longer has any feeling. Sometimes if a tooth is infected, a medication is placed in the canals to allow the tooth to heal before the final filling is placed. The final root canal filling is placed once all infection is cleared. Usually, a crown is needed to restore the exterior of the tooth and prevent a fracture of the weakened tooth.
