At Storts Family Dentistry, patient comfort and care are of the utmost importance. We know that your smile can bring great joy or huge anxiety, so we offer many options to restore our patients' smiles.
Dental Implants: Am I a Candidate?
A dental implant is made of titanium metal and replaces the root of a missing tooth. A crown is then placed on the implant to replace the missing tooth. Implants are permanent, non –removable, and most closely replicate a natural tooth.
Dental implants can also be used to hold in dentures. Loose dentures are the #1 complaint of people wearing dentures, and implant retained dentures are a great option to help stabilize dentures to make chewing and speaking more comfortable.
First, patients receive a full dental exam that includes both x-rays and dental impressions to determine if there is enough bone for an implant to be placed. The implant is then surgically placed using only local anesthesia. After a period of healing, the crown or denture is made to fit onto the implant.
Our dentists work hard to create natural smiles that restore function and esthetics. Let us know how we can help you achieve your smile!
Because this is a permanent replacement for your tooth, the dental implant procedure is a lengthy process. First, patients receive a full dental exam that will include both X-rays and mouth molds to ensure a proper fit. A dental implant cylinder is placed in your jawbone, then, after a period of healing, an abutment is placed. The implant prosthesis or crown is the last step in this process.
Our cosmetic dentists craft natural smiles and will work with you through each step of the journey to ensure that your treatment plan exceeds your expectations.
